the Lower Passaic River in Northern New Jersey.
Manages the portfolio of nearly 100 Superfund sites across the country for major manufacturing

Advise clients in connection with CERCLA mega-sediment site studies and remedies.
Defended electric utility against CERCLA claim by property lessee adjacent to World Trade Center
site. Plaintiff demanded reimbursement of cleanup costs for contamination by “World Trade Center
Dust.” Successfully moved to dismiss plaintiff’s complaint.
Counsels global cosmetic manufacturer regarding retail waste management across the United States
and coordinates guidance regarding international waste management issues, including: Compliance
with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), individual state laws and regulations,
recycling provisions, and universal waste requirements; Development of retail waste management
and reverse distribution programs to comply with evolving laws and regulations.
Advised European cosmetics brand regarding RCRA and individual state requirements for various
retail store openings in the United States.
Represents nonprofit organization that promotes the use of sustainable practices during the
investigation, construction, remediation, redevelopment, and monitoring of environmental cleanup
sites.
Defended vehicle auction facility against NJ Environmental Rights Act claims.
Represented buyer of quarry property, including performing environmental due diligence,
overseeing significant post-closing soil and groundwater investigation and remediation
obligations of seller pursuant to the NJ Site Remediation Reform Act (SRRA) and the NJ
Industrial Site Recovery Act (ISRA), negotiating access agreements, and coordinating with NJ
LSRP.
Counseled real estate development company in industrial property acquisition, including
performing environmental due diligence and managing ISRA compliance.
Counsels major manufacturer regarding environmental permitting and indemnity issues in
connection with sale of hazardous waste treatment business.
Represent major retail manufacturer in defending CERCLA cost recovery action in connection with
RCRA cleanup matter.
