nonsolicitation clauses in 33 countries worldwide, including reviewing the client's standard
offer letter template for compliance in each country of operation and providing recommendations
on any substantive changes which were not required by law but recommended to conform to
established local practices.
Represented an S&P 500 global laboratory company in relation to transactional due diligence,
employment advice, and in employment litigation matters, including numerous discrimination,
harassment, unfair labor practice, and wage and hour actions. Our work has stretched across the
United States, China, France, and England.
Represented a global business technology services provider in a number of international
employment matters, including an international review of executive and incentive compensation
plans to assure legal compliance in 2 North American countries (the United States and Canada),
13 EU countries (Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands,
Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom), and 5 APAC countries (Australia,
Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand); and hiring and background check issues in the United
States, the United Kingdom, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, and
Thailand.
Represented a global nonprofit entity in providing employment, immigration, benefits, and
expatriate contract advice, including ongoing advice in the United States, the United Kingdom,
Germany, and China.
Advised a global manufacturer of packaging and paper on employee termination issues and visa
applications in Hong Kong.
Served as global counsel to a global chemical products company on benefits and employment
matters and litigation, including handbook reviews, letters of employment, separation
agreements, and expatriate employees and employment arrangements in various locations, such as
the United Kingdom, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, India, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. Assisted
the client with the employment issues related to its acquisition of assets from an Italian
company.
Represented a US-based molecular diagnostics company with respect to the employment aspects of
multiple transactions, including an independent contractor agreement for a consultant in Hong
Kong.
Served as outside counsel to a London, England-based specialty pharmaceuticals company on
employment law and immigration matters, defense of government agency actions, and litigation of
several lawsuits involving claims of discrimination, retaliation, and wage disputes in various
jurisdictions throughout the United States. Provided employment advice internationally,
including in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and the United Arab Emirates.
Represented a London, England-headquartered global consumer products company on employment law
matters in the United States, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom, and in litigation of
several lawsuits in various jurisdictions. Defended client against discrimination and FMLA
claims in the US District Court for the Northern District of California and claims asserting
intentional infliction of emotional distress, breach of contract and promissory estoppel, among
others. Represented client in an executive employment termination litigation that spanned almost
five years and was litigated in federal court in New Jersey, state court in California and New
Jersey, and in a JAMS arbitration in New Jersey. This matter involved complex procedural and
substantive disputes regarding employment, immigration, and taxation issues under the laws of
New Jersey, California, the United Kingdom, and Singapore.
Represented a global business analytics software provider in connection with employment matters,
including hiring, executive compensation, termination and severance, post-acquisition employee
integration, and compliance with local employment law in the United Kingdom, China, Taiwan, and
Hong Kong.
Represented various subsidiaries of an international, multi-industry business as global
employment counsel, providing on-the-ground employment advice and/or coordination with local
counsel regarding local employment matters in the Asia Pacific region and Europe.
