Earlier in her career, Kate worked as an attorney and governmental affairs
consultant, advancing policy goals for clients in healthcare, transportation, and
nonprofit sectors. Kate also served in several capacities within the Texas Senate,
including deputy general counsel and deputy committee director for the Health and
Human Services Committee, budget analyst for the Finance Committee, and legal fellow
for the Natural Resources and Economic Development Committee. Additionally, Kate
began their career as a federally registered lobbyist in Washington, DC, managing
transportation-focused government affairs strategies and engaging directly with
Congressional members and staff.
