Cal Gilmartin is a partner in the firm's Asset Management and Investment Funds
practice group. Cal focuses his practice on representing registered investment
management companies (including mutual funds and exchange-traded funds), as well as
advising investment advisers and unregistered private funds. Cal frequently consults
such entities on the application of the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the
Investment Advisers Act of 1940. He also represents registered investment companies
before the Securities and Exchange Commission on matters relating to disclosure,
registration statements, proxy statements, and other filings.
Cal has experience advising mutual fund complexes and investment advisers on the
adoption of environmental, social and governance (ESG) policies and the
launching of ESG, and social impact investment products.
Cal advises investment companies and their boards of directors on all matters of
regulation, registration, and compliance; including new product launches, disclosure
matters, proxy issues, mergers, and reorganizations. He has further experience
working with all types of exchange-traded funds, money market funds, funds of funds,
and funds targeted to investors with certain expected retirement dates.
