Destinee Evers is an associate and a member of the Technology Transactions and Sourcing practice group. Destinee’s practice focuses on data privacy and commercial agreements involving intellectual property. Destinee works with innovative companies and is known for diving deep into the client’s internal policies and understanding their risk tolerance for various use cases. Destinee prides herself on working collaboratively to achieve client goals. At every opportunity, Destinee works to innovate processes and improve the client experience.

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE

Prior to joining the firm, Destinee served as a practice management advisor for the Washington State Bar Association, where she negotiated and managed affiliate relationships for licensee benefits. Additionally, Destinee presented CLE programs on cybersecurity, legal research, technology trends, and more. 

During law school, Destinee was a summer associate at K&L Gates and analyzed the California Consumer Privacy Act and developed a client risk assessment tool. She also interned with a multinational corporation's legal corporate and standardized international trademark reports and nondisclosure agreements. As a volunteer in the Ronald A. Peterson Law Clinic, Destinee guided clients through the U.S. trademark registration process with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Before law school, Destinee was a legal assistant and paralegal for six years focusing on civil litigation and international development.

  • Legal Foundation of Washington: State-wide co-chair for the Associates Campaign for Equal Justice (2023)
  • The Mockingbird Society: Destinee provides ongoing pro bono legal assistance to The Mockingbird Society, a foster care advocacy organization, to develop cross-border licensing of its innovative foster care delivery model. 
  • Village Reach: Destinee negotiated a term sheet and IP licensing agreement for its open source initiative, OpenLMIS, which helps countries obtain logistics data to manage their health supply chains. As a result, VillageReach has a private sector partner that will contribute to the long-term sustainability of the open source project. Village Reach published a case study here.
