At the start of his career, Kan was a member of an international law firm where he
focused on representing private equity firms in mergers and acquisitions
transactions in the technology and healthcare industries, as well as advising
growth-stage technology startups in venture financings, restructurings, and matters
of corporate governance. Immediately prior to joining the firm, Kan was a member of
a boutique corporate law firm, where he focused on representing early-stage
technology, medical, and consumer good startups in transactional matters, including
mergers and acquisitions, venture financings, and international flips, in addition
to serving as outside general counsel for contract review, negotiations, and
employment matters.
