Sacha Cheong is of counsel in the Firm’s Labor, Employment, and Workplace
Safety practice. He has been advising clients on legal issues for over 25 years, and
is qualified to practice law in Hong Kong and England & Wales.
His practice covers a broad range of areas, including all aspects of employment
relations (both non-contentious and contentious) from front-end drafting to
termination, advising in relation to the transfer of employees in business
transactions and reductions in workforce across multiple jurisdictions, employment
disputes, employee and workplace related investigations (e.g. sexual harassment,
discrimination, fraud and corruption, safety), privacy and data breach issues, and
regulatory matters. In addition, with his background in commercial disputes, Sacha
regularly handles and supports the firm on various litigation matters before the
Hong Kong courts and arbitral tribunals.
Sacha is a regular contributor to publications and speaks frequently on topics in his
areas of focus. He is the principal author of the Hong Kong chapter of the
Firm's Global Employer Guide, and the author of the Hong Kong chapters on
Settlement of Civil Disputes and Without Prejudice Privilege published by Practical
Law Litigation & Dispute Resolution.
Sacha is dually qualified in law and civil engineering. He achieved the status of
Chartered Civil Engineer in 2000 and worked on a number of prominent construction
projects in Hong Kong between 1994 and 1998.
