Shane Geraghty is a partner and is a member of the Asset Management and
Investment Funds practice. Shane advises domestic and international asset managers
in relation to the structuring, authorization, and operation of a broad range of
Irish fund vehicles (ICAVs / Designated Investment Companies / Investment Limited
Partnerships / Unit Trusts) which are authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland. He
has particular experience in advising on alternative asset investment and private
market fund structures including for hedge, private equity, private credit, and real
estate fund strategies. He has also experience in dealing with fund financing
arrangements and has advised credit institutions in relation to regulatory
requirements impacting such facilities.
Shane has advised on the establishment and operation of UCITS Management Companies
and Alternative Investment Fund Managers in Ireland and on a branch basis in other
EU jurisdictions. He also acted as internal legal counsel to a listed international
private markets asset manager on a secondment basis. He also has advised on the
structuring of Cayman Islands fund products, having previously worked as an
attorney-at-law in the Cayman Islands. Shane is currently a member of the Irish
Funds AIFMD II Working Group, AIMA’s AIFMD II Working Group
and was previously a member of the Irish Funds Swiss Distribution Group and Hedge
Fund Working Group.
